Boo on the Weather

We didn't get out on Lake Michigan for our weekly Wednesday boating adventure tonight because of the lovely weather. Thunderstorms rolled in around 5pm today, which seemed to be a continuation of yesterday's doozie of a storm.

Yesterday we had 4 inches of rain in 30 minutes in our neighborhood that flooded our street, our common areas in our condo area (outside and in), AND our basement. The water crept through the back common basement door, spread through all of the condo storage areas, and into our place. We will have to get new hallway carpet and guest room carpet. We weren't big fans of it anyhow but still...cleaning up water damage isn't fun. We are thanking our lucky stars because it could have been much worse. The city officials office received 700 reports of flooded basements.

Wrigley Field is three blocks from our home. Here is a pic of the craziness.
