From one fam to the next, the Morrison's from Salina, Kansas came to visit us in Chicago! My Mom and Dad arrived via Midway Airport on Saturday the 28th. (I know - it's been a long time since I've updated the blog) and stayed with us until Wednesday the 1st. It was great to have some quality time w/ the 'rents, and fun to show them more of the city. They last visited in October, where it was a little chilly, and little over a month after we moved into our condo. So they got to see our new interior paint, and experience the summer with all the city's prettiness!
We started out the vacation with having a cookout on our boat. It also was "Venetian Night" which is a 50 year tradition in Chicago. Thousands of people line the lakeshore downtown to see the parade of decorated boats. And then the evening ends with a HUGE firework display. It was the best my parents and I have ever seen! Eric said a display in Washington D.C. barely surpassed this one on his fireworks display ranking....

The beginning of the day's activites - the Gospel Brunch at the House of Blues, and a trip to Arlington Heights Racetrack!

We were in one of the balcony boxes.

Horse racing!
Sitting in the shade while Paparazzi Cindy explored Millenium Park.

Can my sunglasses get any larger?

In early September, Cassie will be in town and we're going to a Wilco concert here! Can't wait!

My office building is the dark brown one in the middle. It looks over Millenium Park and Michigan Ave.

Lunch at the Park Grille outside. It was our last day together! Sad but it was a fun 5 days!!! Love you Mom and Dad!
