Truly A Windy City

Last Thursday evening, a HUGE storm rolled through the city and caused havoc everywhere. Eric and I were stuck downtown because we had decided to go get our rental car since our car is in the shop. Well as the rain came down in sheets, we thought we'd wait it out. And the waiting went on and on and on because storms kept coming. The cab lines everywhere were ridiculous, the rain didn't let up, the wind was terrible, so terrible that a roof of a building blew off onto Lake Shore Drive and shut the road down. The next morning "Chicago storms" were the lead story on The Today Show.

Here are some pics of our front yard. I took some pictures that night and then the following morning. There were 6 windows broken from the wind in our two condo buildings, luckily none of which was ours. People lost plants and pots from their decks, and many o' patio umbrellas were broken, including ours. Underneath the tree branch below is a six foot fence and the door/gate to our place.
