Wow - where to begin.... except with a "Hell Yeah!!" KU won the Orange Bowl!! Now I'm not a doubter, but I was very concerned with how we would play since our snafu against Missouri over Thanksgiving. But I'm so glad Mr. Doust was right with his prediction of a win!! We had the best time and loved our first experience of a college bowl game watching KU win!

Celebration!!!

There was so much going on from when we left Chicago to returning home, I don't want to tell the same story as our roommates on the trip. Cassie did an amazing job of recapping (click here) so here are some highlights and lowlights (not many lows...)
Lowlight: Arriving in Miami Wednesday night after a 3 hr delay - it was 43 degrees. Yikes.
Highlight: Cassie Lane's birthday immediately starting when we first saw her! And Chris Lane's new cocktail of choice - apple juice and Jim Beam in a wine glass.
Highlight: After a fabulous brunch, coming back to the hotel to balloons, wine, and a cake for Cassie, but with "Happy Birthday Chris" written on the cake. Hmmm...
Birthday Day!!
Highlight: Tailgating with the KU masses outside Dolphins Stadium

Highlight: Side kicks
Highlight: Lower level seats for the game with the Lanes!
Highlight: KU WINS!
Highlight: Chris Lane with big tears in his eyes watching the celebration!

Highlight: Visiting new places
Highlight: Having a fabulous vacation with best friends!!
On Saturday after Cass and Chris left for the airport – Eric and I rented a car and drove down to the Keys. I’ve never been down there before and it’s really cool. We stayed in Key Largo, the first stop on Highway 1 on the way to Key West. We drove a little further down to Islamorada, when we first arrived. It's a little town where the new HGTV Dream house is located (click here). We stopped at a little place called Holiday Isle, to see the ocean and enjoy the sun – or the clouds. It is a strip of hotels and little tiki bars right on the water – so cool! The rest of the day we relaxed at our hotel and enjoyed a great seafood dinner! We really did have the best time on this trip! Thanks again Eric – love you!
