Flight of the Conchords

Eric and I celebrated May 14th (1/2 birthday - yes it's a nerdy tradition considering I'm old, & I'm very indifferent about birthdays now anyhow, but I will never forget growing up eating dinner on a "Today Is Your Special Day" engraved plate - thanks mom - so this date always sticks out in my head) by going to the Flight of the Conchords show. They are comedic musicians that also have a show on HBO. Bottom line is THEY ARE FUNNY. They are from New Zealand, and have this sarcastic, dry, self depreciating, comedic timing that I've never seen before with their little bits, in between these totally random, hilarious songs. If you have not seen or heard about these guys, I highly suggest heading to your nearest Blockbuster or hopping online on Netflix and watching the show. I sneaked in a couple of shots from our seats... the theatre was kicking out people left and right for taking pics. I turned my flash off. I was livin on the edge...

This is Arj Barker, who is a stand up comedian that opened for FOTC, and is also a character on the show. Damn funny that guy.
.
PS. Check out the below link: there is a great video and article about the band. Favorite quote is from Daryl Hall, from Hall & Oates fame. Yep he's still around.
