Two Weeks

Is it really May 17th? I feel like I've been in a fog for much of April and all of May. It is unbelievable to me that Eric had the second worst surgery behind open heart over two weeks ago, was out of the hospital one week ago, and now is doing great! The human body is an amazing thing.

Granted he is still in pain and lots of discomfort, but anyone would be after hearing exactly what they had to do to get to the tumor and remove part of his lung. (I won't go into graphic detail here....lets just say there is a TON more internal cutting of muscle, tissue, nerves than what his incisions on his back and side show).

Since this whole thing seemed to happen so fast looking back, there is a lot of things that both of us have to process still. And I knew that was going to deal with it later - that is how I've been my entire life - get through it now, deal with it later. It hit me a little bit the other day as we were driving back from the airport to drop off his Dad and his brother Barry - Eric was filling in one of his buddies on the phone and I about lost it. Just the enormity of the situation was overwhelming, but good chauffeurs can't cry during rush hour!

We thank everyone for all the prayers, positive thoughts, etc from the bottom of our hearts. We are so unbelievably happy that Eric does not have to go though any treatment and everything is clear, and look forward to a fun summer!
